My First Blog 14/11/2009
My first Blog!
Am simply fascinated by the rate at which technology gallops ahead, (Gallops - like a galloping tide, probably not the right word. Sounds like the horse age. Leaps and bounds- middle age stuff. Rockets ahead? - like 60's thinking. Streaks ahead! Hmm! Still in the sixties). Whatever it is - it is mind bongling to think that where I was born, in Tangasseri, India, there was no electricity, a bicycle in every household, a few cars and lamps fuelled by kerosene! We did have a 'His Masters Voice' gramaphone.
It was not until the 70's that I had my first hand held computer, a Casio and where I first learnt to programme - in Basic. We migrated to Australia in the 80,s. The next house hold computer was Commodore 64, that eventually found its demise on the nature strip. Then came the magnificent PC with an impressive 60mb disk drive and Windows. Needless to say, with several upgrades, Motherboards, increasing memory, disk drives - floppy, CD, DVD and now Blue Ray and disk drives in terrabytes, mobile phones that are as good as PC's with GPS, HD video cams, music, real time location tracking on Google earth and who knows what's happening in the next minute so to say. I still dont know why where almost every person has a mobile phone - we need land line telephones!
Love to be in this magnificent age of limitless discovery, space exploration, innovation and continuos inventing!
We are now, the Gods of this insignificant earth and its surrounds as we continually grow in our thinking, creativity and do what most living things from microrganisms to humans do naturally - SURVIVE - and how!
